América and Chivas are set to face off for the third time in a week, this time with a coveted spot in the Champions Cup quarter-finals on the line.
The second leg of their Round of 16 tie promises high stakes, as América manager André Jardine and Chivas coach Gerardo Espinoza are expected to field their strongest lineups in pursuit of victory and advancement in the region's premier club competition.
Chivas secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg last Wednesday, thanks to a late own goal by América's Sebastián Cáceres. Trailing on aggregate, América must secure a win to avoid an early exit from the Concacaf Champions Cup.

What the Coaches Said:
André Jardine sought to alleviate some pressure on his players, stating that fans shouldn't expect them to win every tournament they enter.
"It's a day to be 100 percent focused and committed. The purpose is very clear. We are very clear about what we want, we know the importance, as in all the tournaments we play. We are not going to win every title we play in. That's obvious, but we are going to go into every moment with all the strength, faith, hope, desire and guts, I assure you that this group will go in," said the América coach in a press conference.
Gerardo Espinoza emphasized the significance of the second leg for Chivas, calling it the most important match of the season thus far. He expects his players to give their all in pursuit of qualification for the next round.
"Everyone puts their own pressures on themselves. From our side, we are focused on doing our best, advancing and adding situations that bring us closer to more victories. Beyond what the rival says, we focus on our own thing. They try to lower their responsibilities. We have to focus on our own thing and our thing is to go look for the game and look to win it," he stated.
